With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Beekman Fire Company Auxiliary mourns the passing of beloved Life Member Ruth C. Hogan, a remarkable woman whose life was defined by compassion, service, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Ruth was far more than a longtime member of the Auxiliary—she was a cherished friend, a devoted volunteer, and a true cornerstone of the Town of Beekman community. Throughout her lifetime of service, she dedicated herself to caring for others, offering comfort during difficult moments, and making a lasting difference in the lives of countless people.
Among her many contributions, Ruth founded the Beekman Rescue Squad, creating a foundation of emergency service and community support that continues to benefit others today. Her dedication extended beyond responding to calls for help; she brought compassion and reassurance to those facing some of life’s most challenging moments. She assisted in the delivery of babies, provided comfort to those in distress, and gave her time and energy selflessly to neighbors and strangers alike.
As a Life Member of the Beekman Fire Company Auxiliary, Ruth represented the very best of volunteerism. Her commitment was not measured simply by the years she served, but by the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and willingness to step forward whenever someone needed help.
Those who knew Ruth will remember her as a woman with a caring heart and a deep love for her community. Her actions reflected a lifetime of putting others first, and her example will continue to inspire future generations of volunteers, first responders, and community members.
Although her passing brings great sadness, Ruth leaves behind a powerful legacy of service and compassion. The impact of her work will continue through the people she helped, the organizations she strengthened, and the community she worked so hard to build. Her memory will remain a source of inspiration for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Heartfelt condolences are extended to Ruth’s family, friends, fellow volunteers, and all whose lives were touched by her remarkable generosity. May they find comfort in the memories they shared and strength in knowing that Ruth’s dedication and kindness made the world a better place.
Family and friends are invited to honor Ruth’s life during visitation on Friday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Horn & Thomes Funeral Home in Pawling, NY.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Reformed Church, followed by a gathering at the Beekman Fire House.
Ruth C. Hogan will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her lifetime of service, compassion, and love for the Town of Beekman will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
